2 lists of albums coming out this year...

Basically this whole blog is an idea by Mario and I (also featuring Mr. Geoff Naylor). Nothing new really...Just a blog by a few "judgmental" dudes who like music and feel like writing about it. So as my first "official" post on here I figured I'd write up 2 lists of albums that are coming out/have come out this year. One list of albums that I am/was excited about and one that I am not excited about at all. I'll keep it semi-short. 3 albums for each list in no particular order...and a few sentences explaining my choices.

Albums of 2013 I am/was excited about:

1.) Against Me! "Transgender Dysforia Blues" (coming soon...)

I've been a fan of Against Me! for a while and all the Laura-Jane stuff in the last year never really bothered me at all. I think it made sense and it's good that she's happy, but at the same time I think everyone figured it would lead to the demise of the band...Last week's news about Andrew Seward quitting kind of solidified it. My guess is that the record they've been working on will be their last as a band...and honestly I don't think I'll enjoy a solo record from Laura Jane (because I did not enjoy the solo Tom Gabel record). So this album will have to do.

2.) Off With Their Heads- "Home" (NOW AVAILABLE)

Holy shit was I excited for this one. And they did not disappoint. When I heard this was going to be produced by Bill Stevenson I was instantly into it. When it came out I listened to it without skipping a track. This band has been delivering self-loathing punk rock for years and it's not any different with this album. They're one of those bands that as much as I hate to say this, are really easy to relate to.

Not punk rock at all...but I love these guys. Not much else to say about it. I'm just kind of ready for some new songs. I'm not sure if this is just a rumor or not...but I heard there's going to be a new album by the end of the year.


ALBUMS I AM NOT EXCITED ABOUT:
Just as I was about to do a write-up on each album I'm not excited about I realized I could just list them and you could come up with your own reasons why you think I'm not excited about them. Oh and there are definitely more than 3 of these (again in no particular order so I wont number them...)

Rod Stewart, The Goo Goo Dolls, 30 Seconds to Mars, Switchfoot, Chris Brown, Edward Sharp and the blah blah blah whatever, etcetera, etcetera...

All bands/people that are way more successful than I'll ever be...but that doesn't mean they should keep making records. I could go on...but I won't.
